Friday, I headed home from work and got a call from leitis23, she and dethtonge were heading over to Acapulco in Alameda for dinner and wanted to know if I wanted to join. I hooked up with them and we had a fun time chatting and enjoying a great dinner. After which, I took them over to Southshore for Ice Cream at Loards. We finished off the evening snatching maenadish and bigvinne’s “The Stepford Wives” rental.
Saturday I picked up my mom and Big Brian from the airport, as they had just gotten back from Florida visiting family, kicked back in a Starbucks with my laptop for a few hours and then ended the evening at Kamakura downing sushi with two of my neighbors. I got to introduce them to: Spicy Hotate, Grilled Chilean Sea Bass, White Tuna with Garlic, and Nigori (unfiltered sake). Hmmmm sushi 
Sunday bigvinne rang me up, we made our way into the city via the O bus and then over to Cole Valley on Muni to hook up with maenadish. We all planned to check out the Japanese Cherry Blossom festival. maenadish still had about 1 hour to go before getting off work, so bigvinne and I wandered around Haight for a while, eating a bit at Escape from New York and digging through music in Amoeba Records. After picking maenadish up (actually she picked us up, having the car and all ) we attempted to visit the festival, unfortunately for us, it was 2:10 when we got there (it ended at 3pm), and there was no parking. We even tried the massive parking garage under Japan town, but as we rolled up to the entrance (after waiting in line for 20 minutes) the keepers put up a sign that said “Garage full” ARGH!!!! So we gave up and headed over to Berkeley. We meandered around Shattuck, Telegraph, and the Berkeley Hat Shop before heading back to Alameda. We dropped off maenadish so she could take a nap (you try getting up at 4am to work on a Sunday) then bigvinne and I went shopping for dinner. On the way we also stopped by Loards Ice Cream and kicked back for a bit. The night was finished up with great spaghetti, wine, and people.
